By This review is from: ATI FirePro V5700 512 MB DVI/2DisplayPort PCI-Express Video Card (Personal Computers) I do CAD at home for my work and needed a better video card. I also purchased a new blu-ray drive a while back to find out that old video card could not decode blu-ray. So, looked up which video cards were "approved" for blu-ray and looked up "approved" video cards for solidworks. This card does both and more cost effective than some of the "approved" video cards for CAD.
I found the V5700 for $299.99 with a $25 gift card through another on-line store. As soon as I installed the video drivers, saw an immediate increase in resolution on the HD monitor, using SVGA cable and adapter in the DVI port. The HD monitor has a SVGA and HDMI port. Where as the FirePro card has one DVI and two DisplayPort outputs along with 3 adapters. Locally, the Diplayport adapters are about $30. On line and the prices started around $8 to $60+.
