Product Review
Amazon.com Product Description
The Radeon VE Dual Display Edition offers excellent features and performance. It includes flexible multi-display support, 32-bit true color, comprehensive support for popular operating systems, DVD playback, and integrated DVI and CRT output.

Its most important feature is the ability to display to two monitors at the same time. Work with huge spreadsheets, multiple applications in full-screen mode, or play DVD-video on one screen while typing to the other; the possibilities are endless. With the included HydraVision Multiple Monitor Management Software, you'll quickly be able to set up your desktop across your displays. Create and organize up to nine active multi-monitor desktop applications. Assign hot keys for the functions you use most often: moving active windows, accessing controls, or opening applications with a single keystroke. There's no need to reset your settings every time you turn on your computer. With the Application Position Memory, your applications will automatically open in your preferred position.

The Radeon VE also provides excellent 3-D performance with full support for DirectX and OpenGL. 3-D resolutions up to 1,920 x 1,440 in 16.7 million colors are supported, plus anti-aliasing to remove jagged edges and single-pass multi-texturing (three textures per cycle) for more realistic game play. Performance is increased by ATI's HYPER Z technology, which reduces memory bandwidth consumption for improved performance, and setup and upgrading are easy with a unified driver for all Radeon products.

Full-screen DVD-playback is also supported, and integrated motion compensation and iDCT enable you to keep working on a project during DVD playback, even on basic PCs.

4.0 out of 5 stars Radeon VE, December 17, 2001

This review is from: ATI Technologies Inc. 100-430119 Radeon VE Dual Display (VGA & DVI) 32MB AGP Graphics Card (Personal Computers)
I bought two of these cards (...). One for myself, and one for my son. I have an PIII-750 processor with a via chipset on the motherboard. The card installed fairly easily, although I did have to get the upgraded drivers as I initially got the dreaded blue screen of death warnings with the original drivers. Since then it's worked great. I mainly surf the internet and do word processing type of things. I've noticed the colors are better than my old 4 mb video card, and the speed of everything has increased. My son has an AMD K6-2 550 chip and a via chipset. I could never get the video card to work on his machine, and ended up taking it back. I tried all the newest of drivers that I could find, but have to admit I never contacted the company for help. He's big on games, and we decided to get the 64 MB MX2-400 Geforce card for him instead. Costs a little more(no rebate), but the hours spent trying to get the Radeon to work are behind me now.
