Product Review

Digital Visual Interface (DVI) is the standard interface for high-performance connection between PCs and flat panel displays, CRT displays, projectors, and HDTV. This video adapter is fully compliant with the DVI standard defined by DDWG (Digital Display Working Group). The DVI-I configuration adapts an existing VGA cable for use with a DVI-I device. Maximum resolution is UXGA (1600 pixels x 1200 pixels). Gold-plated contacts provide full conductivity with no data loss. PC- and Mac-compatible cable supports hot-plugging of DVI display devices. Connector 1: DVI-I 17-pin Female (Analog Only). Connector 2: HD15 Male. Please Note: This adapter is for DVI-I ports only, and will not fit a digital DVI-D cable.

Adapter worked right about of the box, came black, not blue, but color didnt matter. Works good for my ps3, I used a hdmi to dvi cable, and then this adapter which was dvi to vga since my lcd screen is vga only. Works like a charm and 1080p looks nice!

I'm thinking C.DelSol just didn't switch displays on his laptop. By default laptops only have a video signal to the built-in screen. There usually is a FN key combination to turn on the external video port.
