2 of 2 people found the following review helpful: By This review is from: D-Link DGE-560T Gigabit PCI-Express SNMP VLAN Flow Control Network Adapter (Personal Computers) I purchased one of these for my file/game server running on windows XP x64 about two months ago since the motherboard only supported 10/100 speeds and I finally upgraded to gigabit router (D-link DIR-655) and wanted to take full advantage of the throughput it had to offer across my LAN (especially with all of the file transfers and media streaming I tend to do across my LAN). There was instantly a notceable improvement to latency on the LAN ~10ms, and latency to my first hop ~40ms. I liked it so much I decided to purchase one for my Desktop (running windows Vista Ultimate x64) since the integrated realtek LAN controller on my Abit IP-35pro was gigabit, but runs on a 32bit PCI bus which handicapped transfers somewhat. I'm now seeing better bandwidth saturation and consistency in packet transmits between the two machines.
