Summary: The Only Choice for Niche Market 2008-02-22
Comment: I wish I had more choices of video cards for my Dell 745 (Small Form Factor). Due to my dual LCD (DVI) setup, low-profile requirement, and Vista Aero compatibility, I have limited my choices to only one - Diamond BizView BV300.
Initially, I thought about getting BV200 from eBay due to cheaper price. But I've come to realize that BV200 had many problems and it wasn't cut out for Vista Aero.
Sadly and fortunately, this is the only card that meets all of my requirements:
+fits in low-profile slot
+has pci-e
+has dual dvi out
+has decent performance to run Vista Aero
+has acceptable price
Pros
+Decent GPU, Radeon X1300 (decent speed on Vista Aero, online games, and office applications)
+Offers low-profile bracket (very rare)
+Offers dual DVI through low-profile bracket (very rare)
+Low heat dissipation (good for small cases)
Cons
-Proprietary dual DVI dongle with extremely sensitive and fine pins (easy to bend or break if not installed properly)
-Vista Aero animation isn't too smooth (slow compare to similarly-priced cards)
Conclusion
I've had this card for about 4 months now and I'm generally satisfied with this product - event though it falls short on DirectX speed and dongle design.
