This card taught me things. My main computer stated to make noise. It sounded like a fan. The problem was intermittent and it was a case of sequential elimination to find the culprit. In the process I thought it was my power supply after replacing it the noise was still there. I then started pulling out cards, one at a time and finally determined that the aluminum GPU cooler was the problem. Taking off the fan was easy, Seeking a replacement was more difficult. I bought an Evercool EC-CUV2AB WHICH SURE IS QUIET. But it is high enough to obscure the adjacent PCI slot. Fortunatly I had a spare motherboard with more PCI slots and reached a satisfactory conclusion. I am not a gamer and in the future will seek display cards without fans for my builds.
