The GTX460 is far Superior in every way. It runs as well on Bad Company 2 with everything turned up on high than the other card runs in low and medium. I tested the 3DMark test and it it was 1300 points higher at the default settings. It runs very smooth in the new MOH and MS Flight Simulator X. I love FPS and this card has upped my kill ratio substantially. It runs very quite, even when you overclock it. EVGA has a tool (EVGA Precision) which allows you to monitor the performance of the card at all times, not only that but allows you to overclock. Now if you dont feel comfortable OCing a new card, not to worry because EVGA has already OC'd the card in a mod they have done before it is delivered. The standard GPU Core setting was 675 mhz it has now been changed to 720 mhz the shader clock...Read more 13 of 14 people found the following review helpful: By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) So I went from my trusty 9800GT to this GTX460. The difference is simply astounding. Burnout Paradise now looks like it's playing in fast-forward and is smooth as silk at 1920x1080, all settings maxed and 4x AA. NFS Shift, which previously really stressed out my GPU runs perfect maxed out (I forget the settings, but probably everything maxed out, no AA). Unigine's benchmark on all default settings (at 1920x1080 again) ran very well. I do wish it were a bit smoother, but it averaged around 30FPS which is fine by me.
The card itself is a good size, not requiring a massive amount of space previous generation cards with similar specs. Heat management is wonderful too, with the card running much cooler than other cards I've tested both at idle and maxed out. Oh yes, and you'll get a nice little "upgrade" if you purchase one of these cards. A bios is...Read more 9 of 9 people found the following review helpful: By Steve G (Florida, USA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Installed in a motherboard that only has PCIe v1, so if you are concerned about running a v2 in a v1 mobo, don't be. It's working great! |
