I upgraded from a 9300, so of course the 9800 GT seems like a champ to me. I don't have much else to compare it to, but I can say that COD4 (at max settings) and Fallout 3 (at high settings - haven't tried "Ultra" yet) play perfectly smoothly for me with this card, and I'm typically getting 60 fps.
One thing that might come in handy while you're shopping is the knowledge that the fan speed on this card is not adjustable through software. EVGA confirmed that over the phone (after I'd spent more time than I care to admit trying to adjust it). I happen to think that it's pretty loud in the stock configuration. It does keep the card cool, though, at least in my system (it idles around 43°C). I disconnected the fan from the card and connected it to a 5V supply, and it runs much quieter now - and is only barely warmer in idle at 49°C. I played COD4 for a while, and the core reached 75°C, which is well under the reported max limit of 105°C.

It took awhile to receive package via usps. I have a dimension e520 which is a mid-size case. Had to use tin snips to remove some of the metal on the card for it to fit. Card works great. Runs COD 4 with all the bells and whistles at 60+ fps. Would buy this again. wISH I would of saved the packing slip,[...]

The most video power for least cost and power needs. Works great on HP 1600n with a 350w power supply. Performance was enhanced by installing another gig of ram and an Athlon 64 X2 5000+ CPU to the motherboard.
