Well, its a Nvidia 580. What more can I say? You can get 20-30% more HP with a new 680, but you'll pay very dearly for it. This board has an impressive, board length, heat sink that looks like it will be much easier to clean when it come time t do your semi-annual PM dusting. From experience with my previous card, the box and blower design is a pain to get clean.
Blazing fast, quiet and cool,

So yes, at this point the GTX 680 is out, which bests the 580 by 10-20% in most applications, but the GTX 580 is still a fantasitc card to play all modern games at 1080p or higher.
The Gigabyte card has a non-reference design that employs 3 PWM fans that automatically ramp up based on the card's heat levels, which are very well managed. I have not seen my card get above 65 degrees at any point while gaming (playing Battlefield 3). The fans are silent until around 75% speed, but I have only gotten to that level by using the EasyBoost software provided for overclocking to see what the fans would sound like at that level - at no point has the card gotten hot enough to spin the fans up that far.
Overclocking works great on the card, and the card comes pre-overclocked from the factory setting. My card is currently running at 800 Mhz and not even breaking a sweat, but I see no current need to increase the overclock as the GTX 580 blazes through any game I throw at...Read more

I purchased this video card specifically to play Battlefield 3 on Ultra settings. I'm not running SLI but this video card is awesome. I can run any current game (Battlefield 3, Modern Warfare 3, Skyrim, Dirt 3) at 1080p resolution and at max settings with no hiccups. I love this card and I would recommend it to anyone. I will probably end up purchasing another for SLI once the newer Nvidia cards come out and the GTX580's drop in price.
