It has never given me a problem performance is good. All games play smoothly and the temperature goes up to 80 on load the card is still stable and doing fine.
Pros good value for money Good performance top of line performance in the 4xxx series cons Outdated. replaced by the 5xxx series DX11 support in Hardware missing useful for the latest games power hungry at full load. In still works genial, when I thing in a HD4890 like this I just analyze that it is the base model for a HD5830 both have the same performance. I f you buy a HD5830 you are buying a HD4890 with a fancy dress saying that its clear that still now buy a 4890 its not a wrong way to go for. But keep in mind that those video cards in general have a lot of used so you can expect some lighting use for a used product but dont worry the VGAs are not Disposable they work sometimes with a lot of heavy using over years. A great product.. its still by gamer for gamers. Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) I can't say enough about the quality of these cards and the coolers on them. When in 2D applications or at the Windows Desktop, these are VERY quite and I couldn't believe how much quieter these were compared to my dual 4850's.
The performance was downright fast, normally besting the 4870x2 card and sometimes keeping up with or barely passing the GTX 295 from NVIDIA. As you can imagine I was disappointed to see that 6 months after bought these, that the 5870's came out and of course I will be upgrading to a dual set of those as soon as my bonus comes in, which at the time I will give a good deal on these cards. I have been able to run most games at 1920x1200 and 1920x1080 with just about all enhancements turned on to high. The overclockability of these cards has been outstanding, usually +100 on the core and +150 on the...Read more |
