It is an amazing video card. I have yet to find anything to even remotely slow it down. It was very easy to install, though, it does take up two rear panel slots (not expansion slots, rather, slots to exterior of computer) but that is a good thing as the second slot it takes up is for the fan to blow the heat out of the video card. This video card has an outstanding design, it is very quiet, and the HDMI output is amazing. Highly recommended for those who are in need of a reasonably priced 1GB Graphics card. I would recommend ATI over nVidia any day. It is all it is advertised to be. Surprisingly quiet (almost silent). Accordingly, suggest cleaning dust from the fan bearings occassionally based on how clean your PC environment is...and lubricating them (do internet search for how to do that), else the quietness quality will 'go south' over time. This is a low power Redwood chipset and not for a serious gaming rig -- gamers are probably not looking at this card anyways -- but dads thinking about surprising a teen gamer with a new or updated PC, NADA.
I needed updated video (and was shocked when the PC went almost silent after adding this card) and wanted to experiment with HDMI before building an HTPC. This card will go into the future HTPC, but will likely order another of these (with great prices on them now -- do search for lowest price) soon because I am building a high-end engineering workstation with an i7-9xx series...Read more 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful: By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) I will say it's an average board and there are better ones from ATI. At the time I just needed something affordable to throw in my old Dell 620 tower. It will get replaced by a higher end board later this year. The performance is OK but you have to tone down the settings in games like ARMA II and Flight Sim X. |
