I bought this for a trade show in order to run two large plasma monitors from one laptop, and it worked right out of the box. It was exactly what I needed.

I was using a VGA splitter already, but it was just a cable with no amplifier. When I plugged this item in, it worked perfectly. Now my PC monitor is brighter. And most importantly, my LCD projected image is MUCH brighter. Wow, it looks great!
As stated by another reviewer, you WILL need a VGA cable that is male on one end, female on the other. Also, I had to adjust the horizontal position of my monitor image a bit by using those hardware controls you find on the outside of your monitor.
But those are very minor inconveniences for a bright, attractive image. Give it a try.
