This review is from: Jaton GeForce FX5200 128 MB Dual Head PCI Video Card (Personal Computers) Got this card so I could add a few more monitors to my computer, but have a nice radeon as my main card. So haven't tried any games or benchmarks or anything too intense with this card yet, but here's what i can say about it:
The Good: - for just displaying basic windows forms, maybe watching a movie - it performs just fine - seems to work fine with the latest geforce drivers - setup was a breeze, just plugged it in and it worked - fan is quiet and low profile, no issues with fitting in pci cards around it The Bad: - included driver cd has a pretty lame setup program ... no biggie, but i just wouldn't bother with them if i were you, just get the latest from nvidia - took approx 20 hours of tinkering to get the thing to work simultaneously with an ATI card. if you are trying to put two cards in your system, i strongly recommend making sure they are both the same brand, even if it costs more - can't get...Read more 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful: By Marcia S. This review is from: Jaton GeForce FX5200 128 MB Dual Head PCI Video Card (Personal Computers) I had a Jaton GeForce FX5200 128 MB Dual Head PCI Video Card pre-installed on my custom HP desktop over four years ago. The HP has three monitors, and I stream a lot of financial data for my work, so the card got a real work-out. When the card died a few months ago, I worried that I wouldn't find a replacement. To my surprise, Amazon still carried it. The card was easy to replace. The software had been updated, so configuration was close to plug and play. A free five-minute call to tech support helped me tweak it to work with the other video card in the HP. My technical abilities are limited, so whenever something is this easy, I'm ecstatic. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful: By This review is from: Jaton GeForce FX5200 128 MB Dual Head PCI Video Card (Personal Computers) All I wanted to do was run two LCD monitors. No gaming, just office apps. For that this card is great. It did not conflict in any way with the resident integrated video card. Set-up was easy, it runs quiet. You can probably get one NIB for about $15 if you look in the right places. |
