This review is from: NVIDIA Geforce 7900 GS 256MB DDR3 Dual DVI HDTV Out PCI-E x16 Video Card HH748 Product may be ok but the Seller ain't! Upon bootup since I installed it about three months ago, I get a computer message that the board is defective, with an option to hit the F1 key. Then my computer hangs until I hit the F1 key. After I hit F1, my computer then boots normally. The only effect that I encountered is that after I reboot, I must wait until the "hit F1" message appears so I can hit F1 to finish the reboot process. Thus I do not know the cause of the problem, whether it's the card or a driver problem in my computer. I had to download drivers from the Internet. NEVER AGAIN will I buy any board without the proper drivers included. I could not do without a video card while I returned this one so I need another card to troubleshoot. So I bought a second card, a new-in-box EVGA GeForce GTX 550 Ti card and I expect delivery in two days (by November 22, 2011.) Are you kidding me? This has to be the deal of the century for a decent card that sold new for around $200. It arrived early looking like new. Installation was a no-brainer, took about five minutes. OK it's not the latest model high-end video card but it didn't cost 100's of dollars either. Movies and videos display beautifully smooth and clear without jitters or hesitation. Bottom line is it runs GTA IV perfectly on low res and that's good enough for me. If it will do that it will probably run just about any game around without a problem. The Geeks and Amazon are awesome, buy from them with confidence!

This review is from: NVIDIA Geforce 7900 GS 256MB DDR3 Dual DVI HDTV Out PCI-E x16 Video Card HH748 This card excels at providing me the amount of desktop space I really need to be productive in my day-to-day activities from trading stock to programming, web development and providing technical support assistance to multiple companies. My productivity has increased as I'm no longer rushed switching windows to find the information, run the tests or anything else and as a result end-user satisfaction has increased due to the speed of response I am now able to provide.
Oh and under Ubuntu Linux, I've not had a single issue running this with the nvidia drivers, either proprietary (my preferred) or open source and Twinview is an option :) |
