I recently started working with SolidWorks at home and needed a better graphics card than the one my computer came with. I decided to go with the Quadro FX380 and I couldn't be happier with it. You can't use a gaming card for SolidWorks, there will always be issues. In my case the program would crash sometimes when rotating the model and chunks of black would appear onscreen. After I installed this card I haven't had one issue with the graphics.

Like any other cheap quadro card, just needed it for compatibility to run a certain cad program. My 9500GT I had earlier just couldn't display properly which became rather annoying. Primarily doing 3D modeling, this card works. I have been using the cheaper quadros for several years and they tended to last just over 2 years, for the price it's cheap to replace. This time around figure may be the overheating that's been killing it and had always left the stock-cooler on. Picked up a vantec iceberq5 copper gpu cooler (see pics). Temp dropped easily 10 degrees during use and monitored using gpu-z.
