Workstation graphics, like the rest of the computing industry, have moved on since this card's heyday. However, if you're unlucky enough to still be using a machine with an AGP (vs PCI-EX) bus, AND you need workstation (as opposed to gaming) graphics, then this card is among the better choices you'll still find available. Good and reliable, too. I owned several at one time, including the one currently in the machine I'm using to write this review. (The last AGP machine I have! <G>)
As for the other comment saying that the picture is of a 900 ...
Seeing as we upgraded several 900's here to 980's back in the day, perhaps I can shed some light. The 900 and the 980 differ only in their use of the AGP bus. The 900 is AGP 4X, the 980 is AGP 8X. Aside from that, they look nearly identical. The picture shown is one model less, this is not the 980, it looks like 900.
If this picture not the actual product, it should have been specified. The right picture will make this item sell at such price. otherwise this would be the 900 series and should be around $10-20 only, there is a big difference in configuration and application between the 900 and 980 AGP graphics adapters.
I could have purchased this product, but my doubt about if it is really 980 made me not buy. sorry.
