Several capacitors on old video card, an Nvidea 7600gs, blew a couple weeks ago. I purchased this card almost at random after 10 minutes of Amazon research. I'm not much of a video gamer, just needed something decent to run my dual monitors on a pc primarily used for work. It certainly does that just fine. I ran the video test on Half Life 2 Lost Coast and found the frame rate about 50 percent faster than with the old card even on a higher resolution monitor. Then I checked my hardware profile and discovered that I'd been sent a card with 1 gb of video ram even though I'd ordered 512 mb. Box also says 512 mb. Can't complain about this kind of false advertising.

Don't buy this. I made the mistake of rushing to buy it too fast. It has the 64 BIT and the DDR2. The combination of the dual results in extreme lag. Examples: In AVA, with my radeon 3200 HD INTEGRATED, I received an fps of 30-60. With this garbage, I received an fps of 20-30. In combat arms, with the radeon 3200 HD, I received an fps of 30-70. With this.. 15-20.
My Suggestion: Buy the Saphire Radeon 4550 for only 40$ right now. Always ALWAYS research the things you buy then research again and then once more and THEN decide.
