A Flory (Houston, TX USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: VisionTek ATi Radeon 7000 64 MB DDR2 PCI Graphics Card 900029 (Personal Computers) If you need a PCI video card for any reason, get this one. It is stable, works great with ATI drivers, and is amazingly fast. It seems to perform as well as my old ATI AGP card, which I had to retire when I switched to an nForce4 PCI-E motherboard.
This card is now my primary video card, and it works so well that I have no real reason to upgrade to a PCI-E card! PS--With WinXP this card may not recognize your monitor's max refresh rate, so you may need to set it manually with the Catalyst software. This is easy to do, though. 8 of 8 people found the following review helpful: Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: VisionTek ATi Radeon 7000 64 MB DDR2 PCI Graphics Card 900029 (Personal Computers) Short and sweet folks. Be leery buying this card unless you have an older operating system (pre-vista) as this card not only does not support vista/win 7, there are no drivers available for it. I'm sure for older operating systems, it may be a decent card, but it is completely unusable on a modern OS.
In my opinion, Amazon should force third party vendors to disclose this information in the product description. Granted, I should have done my homework and researched this outside of Amazon, but I didn't. My bad. Sending mine back... 13 of 15 people found the following review helpful: By This review is from: VisionTek ATi Radeon 7000 64 MB DDR2 PCI Graphics Card 900029 (Personal Computers) You can hook up two monitors to this, and if you already have a graphics card like me you can get a three-monitor system. The monitor connected to the s-video port is great, however on the DVI port (that can also connect with s-video monitors with the included adapter) the only resolutions available are 800x600 0r 1024x768. Still great for the price. |
