This little box, about the size of a paperback book, comes complete with antenna, audio cable, remote control, and a carrying case (!)

The packaged software, WinFast PVR, and WinFast FM, is geared at watching TV or listening to FM. The recording capabilities within these applications are a bit strange, but they do work. The documentation of these apps is a bit sketchy. You can do "time shifting", capture video to hard disc, or even direct to DVD. BUT, I found, that even though playing back the video in WinFast PVR gives perfectly synchronized audio, writing it to DVD caused the audio to get out of sync. I tried this two different ways: using "Direct Burn" (which would have been GREAT had it worked), and by using (my own) Sonic RecordNow to create a DVD from the captured video. Both had sync problems.

I bought this TV Tuner from Newegg.com to replace a Kworld Tuner that was a piece of junk.

It works as intended. Video and Audio are in sync (it wasn't on the Kworld). It is a small box. I wish the ports were not on three sides which forces you to hide it, but otherwise I am very happy with it. The resizable video window is easy to operate. The video is crisp and clean. It was easy to hook up. The remote is small and aesthetically pleasing.

4-12-06 update: When it worked, it was greaat, but it started having problems (computer did not recognize it) so I sent it back. The replacement had the same problem so I sent it back and got another product by another manufacturer to replace it.

Having used and discarded other TV cards, including the deeply disappointing ATI TV Wonder Pro with its worthless drivers and software and their sparse and useless Technical Support with those lengthy toll calls to Canada, I made another intense effort to locate a satisfactory product and, after all the reviews and studies, ended up here at this LeadTek product.

Regarding the other reviews before this, they are all accurate in their own ways, both the positive and negative ones. Those who are positive, were ecstatic. Those who were negative, were no less correct in expressing their experiences. But I believe all of their complaints could have been successfully assuaged and all of them rendered as satisfied as the 4- and 5-star reviewers.

I know because I spent two days struggling with this unit and also felt the pinch of a seemingly unresponsive Technical Support.
