XFX is a company that I am turning to more frequently when I am in need (or want) of a new graphics card, my last two cards now have been from XFX and both have performed flawlessly, even in a fairly dusty environment. This 6790 performs even better than I expected and does not overtax the cooling of my existing system, great product that I would recommend for most who need a better than average graphics solution.

I've been an ATI supporter since before they were actually a real competitor to Nvidia. I recently began upgrading my computer with an array of new parts (Asus Sabertooth 990FX board, AMD 4100 FX processor, 8 GB G.Skill DDR3 ram) and decided to purchase this card based on recommendations from Toms Hardware.

I did everything I could on my own to get the card working. I reinstalled Windows 7 64bit from scratch, I installed multiple versions of the Catalyst drivers to see if one of them would fix the problem. I switched which PCI-E 16x slot the card was in. Nothing I did helped.
I contacted XFX to try and...Read more

Installed the card and everything worked great for about 45 minutes...then the random crashes started. I tried re-installing the drivers, clean windows install, and just about everything one would do in this situation. The only real solution was to remove the card and go back to my old card. Computer is happy again and I am returning this card to Amazon for a refund.
