4.0 out of 5 stars Gets the job done, September 25, 2010
This review is from: XFX Radeon HD 5550 1 GB DDR2 HDMI PCI-E 2.1 Video Card HD555XZNF2 (Personal Computers)
Im just a casual user/gamer so this card works great for me. I really just needed something for casual game play and blu ray playback. This card was just slightly more expensive than most direct x10 cards so i figured it would be worth it for the extra power. I don't play to many computer games but tried BC2 just to see what this card can do and it looked amazing to me but i am not very demanding either.
Overclocks very easy and stays cool.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good Card for the Price but Glitchy with My System, April 22, 2011
This review is from: XFX Radeon HD 5550 1 GB DDR2 HDMI PCI-E 2.1 Video Card HD555XZNF2 (Personal Computers)
Picked this up to replace the aging on-board graphics card in my aging Acer Aspire E380 computer running Windows 7. Was a breeze installing it in the pci express slot. Computer got up and running fine, though start-up takes longer with the card installed than it did before. Not too much trouble getting it set up to run my dual monitor setup, one monitor connected via DVI and the other via VGA. I don't do any pc gaming, so my only needs were dual monitor support and better handling of multimedia - streaming video, consumer level video editing, home movie viewing and such, etc. The card can certainly handle anything I'm throwing at it with no problems.
I am having one issue, however, that has yet to be resolved. When running this card, if my computer goes into sleep or hibernation mode, the monitors will not re-start when I wake up the computer. This is very annoying as I use sleep mode all the time. I much prefer the quick start-up from sleep mode versus shutting down and...Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice upgrade from on-board graphics, March 4, 2011
This review is from: XFX Radeon HD 5550 1 GB DDR2 HDMI PCI-E 2.1 Video Card HD555XZNF2 (Personal Computers)
Hello,

I purchased this card to upgrade the onboard Radeon 3000 graphics in my HP desktop in order to play the occasional game. My monitor is an HP 2310m and I can run the followi9ng games at 1920x1080 resolution vith no problems:
H.A.W.X. - Very smooth, no issues whatsoever on DirectX10, DX11 get's a bit choppy
Starcraft 2 - I don't think I have the graphics turned all the way up, but unless you are a hardcore gamer you would never tell
Civilization 3,4,5 - Very nice on all of these games
Serious Sam HD - Highest Resolution, highest graphic settings, 60 FPS
Mechwarrior 4 - Couldn't be smoother

Running on a WIndows 7 64bit OS.

In a nutshell, great card for the casual gamer, and for 60 bucks you get your moneys worth. I purchased this along with a 550W power supply and love it.
