XFX Radeon HD 5770 1 GB DDR5 PCIE Graphics Card HD577AZNFC

My very first true graphics card was a Radeon rage 128 with like 8 or 16mb video ram. I have gone through many Radeon cards and for 180$ this is one hell of a card. Lets face it not many, if none games today support direct x 11 however my nvidia 9800gt did not support my Panasonic resoultion which was because my 9800GT didn't have a HDMI output connector. The fact is when I grew tired of the Radeon 5850 being out of stock I bought this card and so far hooked to a Panasonic 46" plasma it has performed outstandingly. If you want maximum performance wait for the 5850 for 5870 but the fact remains 180$ for a graphics card with direct 11 and capable of running L4D at full 1920X1080 resoultion is remarkable. This card almost didn't fit into my NZXT cases so be prepares it requires some room, for this price this card is outstanding and its in stock woot :). Though I have been an NVIDIA Fan Boi now for 5 years.....I have come to respect the new Radeon series, especially since XFX has jumped on the Radeon band-wagon.....

I've always been a HUGE fan of EVGA and XFX and I thought I would venture into the realm of Radeon again knowing that XFX has an awesome reputation for having a great graphics card.

I can't say that I'm that surprised because this is backed by XFX, but I've had nothing but a great experience with my new XFX Radeon 5770.

My system use to skip and stutter in the first 10 seconds during gameplay on COD4 with my 8800GTX, but since I've installed this Radeon 5770 from XFX, I've had no such problems!

For those of you who play today's latest games and future games like COD MW2, this Radeon 5770 from XFX is PERFECT!

The only thing that is a negative was it took me about 6 hours to install the card. Most of it was my problem. At first I didn't think that my HP desktop even had a slot for it, but finally determined that it did. Then shoe-horning in this big board on my little motherboard was a challenge. Then I couldn't find the power connector because the drawing that came with the board was nothing like the actual board. The connector was hidden in the end of the card inside the cooling shroud. So, bottom line, I had to call HP to make sure that the motherboard was compatible and I had to call Radeon to find the power supply connection and later to ask them to troubleshoot as my computer would not recognize the card. There was pretty much nothing they could do, so I finally reseated the board and apparently it was a few microns from being seated completely. Now it works fine.
